Read: 2 Peter 1:20–21
There are many ways people can get a message from one place to another. They can write a letter, send a text or an email, make a phone call, or post on social media. If they wanted to be more creative, they could hire an airplane to write a message in the sky with smoke, send a carrier pigeon, or float a message in a bottle across the ocean! All these ways would work to send a message, and yet, that’s not how God chose to send us the Bible.
God chose to use special people called prophets to write a lot of the Bible. Think of these people as God’s special messengers. The Holy Spirit inspired them to write about His truth, giving them words that one day would be part of the Bible. Although each book of the Bible may show the writer’s personal style, the content is what God told the writers to record. Because they were writing and speaking from God, the things they wrote about actually happened. We can trust that the Bible is God’s Word and that every word of it is true!
