  • Saul had broken that covenant and Israel was experiencing famine because of it
  • King David goes to God and God tell him it is because they broke the covenant
  • David goes to the Gibeonites and asks what he can do to make it right
  • They asked for 7 of Saul’s sons
  • David hand them over and they were hung

  • King David heard of this act of faithfulness and bravery
  • David had Saul’s bones and the son’s bones buried in a place of honor
  • While this is a tragedy in the Bible, there are still things we can learn from it
  • Rizpah accepted her son’s had done wrong and were punished but she was still their mother
  • She still loved them and fought for them to be honored/buried
  • She stood her ground and God honored that faithfulness
  • Don’t give up on the next generation…God has placed you in the office of Mother

Can’t Cope Without Soul Soap

Join us today as Pastor CJ shares a message on purity called Can’t Cope Without Soul Soap.

  • Why Purity?
    • It’s a salvation issue
      • It is a matter of the heart
    • It’s a relationship with God issue
      • God didn’t change from the old testament to the new testament
      • Still desires purity
      • Jesus came to fulfill the law not to abolish it
    • It’s a relationship with others issue
    • It’ s testimony issue
  • What’s the solution?
    • Live according to His Word
    • Hide His Word in your heart that you might not sin against him
    • Keep your focus on God
    • Run from temptation
    • Define parameters now on how to live
    • Put measures in place to protect yourself

Foot Washing: A Lesson in Humility

Join us today as Pastor CJ shares a message entitled: Foot Washing: A Lesson in Humility

Key Scripture: John 13:1-13

  • We often see the portrayal of the last supper but not often the foot washing
  • Why do we usually skip over Jesus washing his disciples feet?
  • Could be that we want to be at the table but not lower ourselves down to a servant
  • We like the depiction of God the warrior king but our God is a foot washing God too
  • Peter was quick to say that Jesus couldn’t wash his feet missing the spiritual significance to what Jesus was doing
  • Peter comes around and says to wash all of him, but still misses that it is more about a spiritual cleansing than a physical cleansing
  • Jesus washed everyone’s feet including Judas showing an important lesson to even serve those we might consider them an enemy
  • Only through humility can God shape us into who we need to be
